sugar glider habitats

Ok, so today i will write about what your sugar glider's habitat should look like. Your sugar gilder's cage size should be at least 3 by 2 ft but if you have more than one sugar glider (which i strongly recommend)you should probably think about getting a larger cage.

Don't forget to accessories! sugar glider's need toys in order to play at night. At most pet shop such as petco or petsmart they sell sugar glider pouches,(this is especially needed), branches, cage ropes, and wodent wheel(recommended) but these are only some things you can get. There are alot more things you can accessories the cage with. You can get tree branches from natural trees but i don't recommend it because it may have had chemicals sprayed on that can kill your suggie. Up top you can see a picture of an ideal sugar glider cage.

Thank you so much for caring for your sugar glider! Have a great day!

sugar glider diet

Sugar gliders like many animals are prone to disease and illnesses :(. The good news is we can easily avoid these illnesses by making sure your sugar glider has a proper diet. Here ares some easy to make sugar glider food recipes (i can not take credit i got these recipes from sugar gliderexpress.com)Alternate Diet1 egg scrambled or boiled and cubed1/4 cup of apple juice unsweetened 100% apple juice4oz nonfat fruit flavored yogurtBlend these items well5 oz broiled, plain chicken or turkey (do not use any seasoning as garlic, onion, or spices)1/4 cup wheat germ1/2 cup dry baby cereal rice or oatmealBlend these items wellUse the above mixture as a base and the following as a separate mixture for variety.2-3 different steamed/fresh vegetable2-3 different fresh fruitGatorade may be given 3-4 times per week: change these liquids daily and use filtered water for the fresh water and to mix with your Gatorade. Use fruit flavored Gatorade, mix the granular kind to your glider likings. The flavored fruit mix encourages your glider to drink more liquid. It contains electrolytes, and also contains sucrose, which is a nectar substitute, both very important to him. Avoid feeding anything with preservatives, sugar or color additives. Gliders in the wild eat very low fat diets; in captivity they can become fat and develop health problems. Daily exercise is very important. Exercise helps the bones absorb calcium and stimulates bone thickening. A sizable cage, a running wheel and toys will promote good exercise and a stimulating atmosphere. In addition to these essentials, the best exercise is daily out of cage playtime.Judie’s version Leadbeaters1/2 cup honey2 ounces Gerber yogurt juice1 ounce of apple juice1 ounce of cranapple juice (crancherry or apple cherry, grape any fruit juice of your choice)1 small jar baby food sweet potato or carrots2 small jar of chicken, turkey, or veal in gravy1/2 cup mixed cereal (dry baby food)2 teaspoons repcal1 teaspoon herptivite1/4 cup wheat germ1 boiled eggMix all above ingredients into food processor.
